Life is a Buffet of Choices, I'm just here for the Food

Post Numero Dos!

A few members of the office have started a tradition of taking their Friday lunch breaks at various buffet style restaurants around Corvallis. Most range between seven to twelve dollars per person, not including a drink. Now for those of you who have been living under a rock and never perused a buffet style restaurant, let me remind you, it is a place where the food is UNLIMITED. You pay the buffet price and can eat to your heart's content limited only by the size of your stomach.

(My terrible rendition of what a stomach looks like!)

Back to Buffets-

So, we naturally came to a discussion of the cost/benefit relationships that buffet style restaurants have. The overarching question is, "How does one get the MOST for their money at a Buffet?"

And we each had different opinions (naturally- they are opinions after all!)

My idea of how to get the most for your money is to eat your fill (but not too much!) by sampling every single thing in the whole buffet that tickles your fancy or looks interesting, then top it off by going back for seconds of your favorites.

Deion, resident office jokester, claims that the best way to get the most for your money is to eat an absolutely obscene amount of food. Just today, he ate TWENTY FOUR pieces of sushi in addition to two or three plates of food in order to ensure he got what he paid for.

THAT'S RIGHT- 24 Pieces!!!

And finally, Matt, another office prankster always in cahoots with Deion weighed in (figuratively ;) and claimed that the best way to get the most for your money is a combination of eating at least the dollar amount you paid in food AND enjoying the atmosphere of a buffet. He prefers places with multiple televisions and good company. Last week, he made a 12-inch tall soft serve ice cream cone at the buffet, and to a group of elderly men seated nearby's collective delight, proceeded to attack it head on!

Imagine this....but twice as tall and far less colorful!

Everyone has their own idea about how to have a good time at a Buffet and how to get the most for their money. Comment below with your Buffet-Attack-Plan or just to discuss your favorite Buffet-Style restaurants!
